Tips for a Better Disney World Experience

A Connecticut executive, Michael (Mike) Vasaturo oversees finances at New Haven Terminal, Inc. In his spare time, Michael Vasaturo enjoys traveling to Florida with his family and going to Walt Disney World.

To get the most out of a visit to Disney World, consider the following tips.

1. Wear MagicBands. Connected to the My Disney Experience app, advertised as an online space to build a dream vacation, MagicBands allows you to check in at FastPass+ entrances and charge food and merchandise purchases to your hotel room. The band keeps personal information secure through MyMagic+.

2. Visit in September and early May. While temperatures are slightly warm in September, visitors benefit from lower ticket prices. In May, right after spring vacation, but before the academic school year ends, park goers enjoy smaller crowds.

3. Use Disney Dollars. Good for budgeting lessons and giving kids an allowance, each Disney Dollar is equivalent to USD $1. Charged as a purchase, the currency can be obtained without accruing ATM fees.
