Recently, Boys Town New England was awarded a $300,000 grant from United Way of Rhode Island. The grant will extend over three years, providing $100,000 to the organization on an annual basis. Funds will go towards Boys Town’s In-Home Family Services, a program that is currently operating at the organization’s Rhode Island location. Local school systems send referrals to Boys Town for children who might benefit from the services provided by the program.

United Way’s grant was awarded for the first year of the new 2016-2019 grant cycle that focuses on funding efforts that help kids discover a love for learning. Following its request for proposals in fall 2015, Boys Town New England sent United Way a funding application. They were one of 224 organizations that did so. With the new funding, Boys Town hopes to continue changing the lives of the kids it works with and helping them succeed both in the classroom and later in life.
